Hans-Werner Huppertz

Hans-Werner Huppertz is one of  the most interesting guitarists of his generation.
He made his international debut in 1990 when he received the first price at the international
competition for guitar “Seto Ohashi” in Okayama/Japan and the second price at the 33rd
international guitar competition in Tokyo. Since then he has been a solo player and a chamber
musician all over the world. At the same time he has become a lecturer of numerous master courses and a member of juries for international competitions.

The artist Hans-Werner Huppertz is particularly interested in studying and playing the original repertoire of the guitar which he is constantly trying to increase, among others, by seizing the suggestions of modern works.
Besides giving concerts and teaching at the academy of music in Cologne/department Aachen he is the art director of the "Aachener Gitarrenpreis" and the reputable concert series “Accordate” in Aachen.
