Subject: Bangkok Situation Update
Dear everybody,
The team at The Sukosol would like to provide all our guests, industry partners and colleagues with an update regarding the coup d’état that has been declared in Thailand.
Thankfully, the international news media is continuing to report that there has been no major violence around the country, and for the most part, life continues as normal in Bangkok and Pattaya.
All our hotels are running normally, however the army has announced a curfew from 10.00 pm each evening until 5.00 am every morning.
The good news is that they have specifically exempted a number of people from this curfew, including anyone going to and from the airports (all of which remain open as usual), as well as shift workers, meaning that we can continue to offer all our normal services.
We are of course strongly recommending that all guests remain at the hotel during the curfew, unless they are travelling to or from the airports, in which case public taxis and limousines are available. Our staff is more than willing to help make arrangements to travel for any guests who need to do so.
BTS, MRT and the Airport Rail Link train networks are all running, although they are closing a little early each evening. We are happy to confirm opening times directly with guests, as these are subject to change.
Outside of the curfew period, shops & shopping centres, tourist attractions and dining outlets are all open as normal, although some may also be closing a little earlier than usual.
