Vu Tran Dinh | luthier (Vietnam)

Picture

Vu Tran is a young luthier from Vietnam, whose guitar design is recognized as a blend of the traditional and modern approaches. Before diving into the art of guitar craftsmanship, Vu had a successful career as a graphic designer. Through the lens of an artist, Vu always approaches guitar making as an art form itself.

As a complete self-taught luthier, Vu has faced many challenges, but it never stops him from crafting his dream-sounding guitars. Since 2009, Vu has been working relentlessly on his prototypes. It is the result of many years of studying traditional designs such as Hermann Hauser's, Daniel Friederich's, and modern approaches by Mathias Dammann, Simon Marty, Trevor Gore. Vu's signature design is constructed from the lattice, based on Smallman's design with traditional top thickness, which improves the dynamic and creates a unique voicing while retaining the balance and musicality of the classic design.

Vu considers guitar building as an endless creative process, which requires serious study of the science of sound and craftsmanship. He is always in quest of a perfect tone. Write to Vu Tran
